Third Phase of Skills Development Camp to Include 17 Players
LAHORE: The second phase of the Skills Development camp, featuring 15 players, concluded at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Saturday, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to the cricket board, coaches supervised the players in various fitness and fielding drills from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Skill-based sessions, including net practice, were conducted from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground and NCA between Monday and Thursday.
On the final two days of the second phase of the Skills Development camp, participants engaged in simulated match scenarios at the LCCA Ground.
Second Batch of Players for Skills Development Camp:
Aamir Jamal, Ali Raza, Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mehran Mumtaz, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Faiq, Mohammad Nawaz, Mubasir Khan, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shahid Aziz, and Yasir Khan.
It is important to note that a total of 47 players were chosen to participate in the camp across three groups from June 16 to July 5. Following the completion of the second phase, the PCB has revealed the names of 17 players who are scheduled to participate in the third phase from June 30 to July 4.
Third Batch of Players Called Up for Skills Development Camp:
Ali Zaryab, Azan Awais, Faisal Akram, Fawad Ali, Mohammad Naeem, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Suleman, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Musa Khan, Omair Bin Yousaf, Rohail Nazir, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Shamyl Hussain, Ubaid Shah, Usman Khan, and Waqar Ahmed.
Notably, Director High-Performance Aqib Javed mentioned that the players were invited to the camp following thorough discussions with newly appointed white-ball head coach Mike Hesson. This information was shared in a statement by the PCB.
Javed stated that the camp would present the 47 players with an opportunity to enhance their abilities during a short break from competitive cricket.
