Sindh Govt Announces Salary, Pension Increases in FY26 Budget

In a move providing financial relief, the Sindh government has declared an ad hoc salary increase of 12% for employees in grades 1 to 16, and 10% for those in grades 17 to 22.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who also serves as the finance minister, presented the Sindh budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 in the provincial assembly. He announced an 8% increase in the pensions for retired provincial government employees.

Notably, the federal government previously augmented the salaries of its employees in grades 1 to 22 by 10% for FY26, along with a proposed 7% increase in pensions.

During the budget address, the Chief Minister mentioned an increase in the conveyance allowance for differently-abled employees.

Describing the budget as “comprehensive,” CM Shah stated that special grants will be allocated for welfare and development initiatives.

“The budget is poised to unlock the untapped potential within Sindh,” he added.

While presenting the annual budget in the assembly, the CM introduced the Annual Development Program (ADP) for the upcoming fiscal year, featuring a total expenditure of Rs1,018 billion.

He elaborated that the Provincial ADP is set at Rs520 billion and is further supported by District ADP, Foreign Project Assistance (FPA), and Federal PSDP grants. He added that this extensive development scheme will concentrate on rehabilitation, infrastructure upgrades, enhanced social services, and sustainable growth across the province.

The chief minister also detailed specific allocations, including Rs102.8 billion for education, Rs45.4 billion for healthcare, Rs84 billion for irrigation, and Rs132 billion for local government initiatives.
