NOTTINGHAM: In a captivating match at Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire secured a narrow one-wicket victory against Leicestershire in the 2025 Men’s Vitality Blast on Sunday. This occurred despite a dynamic, undefeated innings from Shan Masood.
After being sent in to bat first, Leicestershire achieved a total of 188-2 in their 20 overs.
Leicestershire’s Innings
Rishi Patel (51) and Sol Budinger (56) started strongly, building a solid base with a 114-run opening partnership. This set the stage for a highly competitive score.
Leicestershire’s opening pair were dismissed around the 13.3-over mark, with the score at 116. Subsequently, Rehan Ahmed and Shan Masood propelled the innings forward, remaining undefeated.

Nottinghamshire’s Chase
In their response, Nottinghamshire successfully chased the target in 19.5 overs, despite losing nine wickets.
Captain Joe Clarke spearheaded the chase with a rapid 50 from 24 balls, supported by wicketkeeper Tom Moores, who added a valuable 42.
Crucial lower-order runs from Dillon Pennington and Farhan Ahmed proved decisive, guiding Nottinghamshire to a tight victory.
