Faisal Super Mart Sealed for Sales Tax Violations

Sanghar’s Faisal Super Mart has been sealed by authorities following directives from Commissioner Inland Revenue Zone II, Muhammad Shamim. The action was carried out by Aijaz Ali, the Focal Person Point of Sale and Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue.

The closure stems from violations of Section 33, Serial No. 24 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990. This section addresses penalties for integrated retailers who provide invalid or manually created sales invoices that lack the FBR’s required QR code and invoice number, designed to evade sales reporting. The Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Qazi Hafiz-ur-Rehman, issued the compliance orders leading to this action.

Investigations revealed the business was issuing unofficial invoices, contravening the FBR’s Point of Sale system regulations. This infringement was detected via mystery shopping, as instructed by Commissioner Muhammad Shamim of the Regional Tax Office Hyderabad. Upon confirmation of the illegitimate invoices, authorities promptly sealed the premises of Faisal Super Mart.
