Rauf Acknowledges Afridi’s Captaincy as Key to Qalandars’ Success

Lahore Qalandars’ pace bowler, Haris Rauf, has commended skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi for his remarkable leadership skills. He emphasized that Afridi’s leadership was a crucial element in the team’s successful Pakistan Super League (PSL) campaigns.

During a conversation on a social media platform this Wednesday, Rauf gave credit to Afridi’s leadership for transforming the Qalandars into a formidable, championship-caliber team.

“Afridi’s captaincy has been truly exceptional. There’s no question about it. His guidance led us to secure two titles, and his contribution has been indispensable to our achievements,” Rauf stated.

Rauf lauded Afridi’s leadership abilities, pointing out that the Lahore Qalandars have clinched the PSL championship twice under his command.

Despite Afridi’s passionate presence on the field, Rauf portrayed him as a composed and encouraging figure off the field.

The 31-year-old bowler highlighted that Afridi consistently backs his teammates, cultivating a supportive atmosphere that empowers players to perform at their best.

“He might appear intense during matches, but away from the field, he remains very level-headed and always supports the team,” Rauf added.

One of the qualities that impressed Rauf was Shaheen’s impartiality as a captain. He stressed that Afridi treats every player fairly and prevents personal biases from affecting his decisions.

“He doesn’t demonstrate favoritism. On the field, he conducts himself as a genuine leader,” Rauf explained.

Rauf further added that enhanced performances naturally arise when players have complete faith in and support for their captain.

“When you have confidence in your captain, you are motivated to perform at your peak. I aim to adhere to his strategies to contribute to the team’s victories,” he concluded.

In the current PSL season, Haris Rauf has participated in six games, securing five wickets with his best figures being 1/23.

Currently, the Qalandars hold the third position in the PSL standings with 10 points, having secured four wins and suffered two defeats in six matches. Their upcoming match is against Islamabad United this Wednesday.
