PSL Teams to Retain Players Signed for Remaining Matches

Teams participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season will have the opportunity to retain players signed specifically for the remaining matches in the next edition of the tournament, according to sources.

Currently, franchises are in the process of finalizing their squads, with significant attention being paid to securing foreign players as the league progresses towards its final stages.

Sources indicate that teams will be permitted to retain players who participate in the remaining fixtures of PSL. In certain circumstances, replacement players brought in during the tournament will also be regarded as regular team members, making them eligible for retention.

However, should the league expand by including additional teams in the upcoming season, franchises will face limitations and will only be allowed to retain a maximum of five players, and a minimum of three.

It’s worth noting that PSL 10 is scheduled to recommence on May 17, with a match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Quetta Gladiators have verified that Rilee Rossouw and Finn Allen will be available for the remainder of the competition. Additionally, the team has enlisted Sri Lankan players Dhananjaya de Silva and Avishka Fernando, along with Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib, to enhance their squad’s strength.

Islamabad United’s team includes Alex Hales and Rassie van der Dussen, with Ben Dwarshuis, Tymal Mills, and Jimmy Neesham also expected to participate in the remaining games.

Karachi Kings have reinforced their team with the return of David Warner, Tim Seifert, Mohammad Nabi, James Vince, Ben McDermott, and the recent addition of George Munsey from Scotland.

Lahore Qalandars will depend on the skills of Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa for the rest of the tournament.

Peshawar Zalmi have welcomed back Luke Wood, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Najibullah Zadran, and Max Bryant to their squad in an effort to revitalize their campaign.

Multan Sultans have recruited Australian players Josh Brown and Peter Handscomb to finalize their squad for the matches ahead.
