Quetta Gladiators Secure PSL 10 Playoff Berth
The Quetta Gladiators, champions of 2019, have officially earned their place in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 playoffs, the league confirmed on Tuesday.
The announcement was shared on the PSL’s social media platforms with an animated graphic showcasing captain Saud Shakeel, veteran bowler Mohammad Amir, and powerful batsman Rilee Rossouw, all designed in the Gladiators’ team colors.
“The Gladiators are in,” PSL posted on its official accounts. “Quetta Gladiators marched their way into the playoffs—who’s ready?”
With 11 points from eight games and a Net Run Rate of 0.906, the Gladiators currently hold the top position in the PSL 10 standings.
The team started their campaign impressively, defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 80 runs in a dominant performance.
However, they faced consecutive defeats against Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, which dropped them in the rankings, just above Multan Sultans who have been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Saud-led team bounced back strongly, securing victories in four of their subsequent five matches, with one game against Qalandars ending without a result.
Having already qualified for the playoffs, the Gladiators’ upcoming two matches remain crucial as they aim for a Top Two finish, which would grant them two opportunities to reach the PSL 10 final.
Their next match is scheduled for Wednesday against defending champions Islamabad United in Rawalpindi, followed by their final league-stage match against the Sultans on Sunday.
