Ensuring Transparency and Accuracy in MDCAT 2025

With MDCAT 2025 just around the corner, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has rolled out a series of new directives aimed at enhancing the fairness and reliability of the nationwide medical entrance exam.

This year’s MDCAT is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, and will see over 140,000 candidates participating across Pakistan and one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. To ensure the exam runs smoothly, PMDC has mandated universities to conduct a pre-hoc analysis of test questions. This process involves reviewing the exam content beforehand to eliminate errors and prevent the inclusion of out-of-course material or flawed multiple-choice options.

In a move to streamline logistics, PMDC has instructed universities to issue roll number slips at least seven days before the exam. This gives students ample time to verify their details and prepare without last-minute stress.

Security and confidentiality are top priorities. The development, analysis, and printing of MDCAT papers must meet rigorous standards. Question papers will remain sealed until they are opened in front of official witnesses on exam day, ensuring transparency and minimizing the risk of leaks.

The MDCAT will be conducted simultaneously across 35 venues nationwide. Participating institutions include the University of Health Sciences (Lahore), Sukkur IBA University, Khyber Medical University (Peshawar), Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (Quetta), and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University (Islamabad).

These reforms reflect PMDC’s commitment to maintaining the credibility of the medical admissions process. By enforcing strict protocols and encouraging institutional accountability, the council aims to foster a more equitable environment for aspiring medical students across the country.
