Weather Alert: Windstorm and Rain Forecasted for Upper and Central Pakistan
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory, predicting windstorms and rain-thunderstorms across the upper and central regions of the country from the night of May 27 through May 31, with brief intervals.
The PMD indicates that humid airflows are continuously entering the upper and central sections of the nation. A westerly wave is anticipated to affect the upper regions starting May 28, leading to widespread unsettled weather.
This weather disturbance is expected to bring windstorms and rain-thunderstorms, accompanied by isolated instances of intense rainfall and hailstorms, to a large portion of the country.

- Murree and the Galliyat region
Punjab:
The advisory includes Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Sheikhupura.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
The weather system is expected to impact Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Karak, and Waziristan.
Additionally, a windstorm with light to moderate rain-thunder is anticipated in areas of Balochistan and South Punjab, such as Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, and Dera Ismail Khan, from the evening/night of May 27 to May 30, with intermittent breaks.
Advisory:
The PMD cautioned that windstorms, dust-thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning could potentially damage vulnerable infrastructure like power poles, trees, vehicles, and solar panels, particularly in Islamabad and other upper and central areas.
Farmers are encouraged to plan their agricultural activities in accordance with the weather forecast.
The public, travelers, and tourists are advised to exercise caution during this period of active weather.
All relevant authorities are urged to maintain vigilance and implement necessary precautions to prevent any adverse situations.
