PM Sharif Embarks on Official Visit to UAE

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commenced an official one-day trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, accompanied by his delegation. The purpose of the visit is to engage with the UAE’s leadership.

The Prime Minister’s entourage includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the PM (SAPM) Tariq Fatemi.

A press release from the Foreign Office (FO) emphasized that this visit underscores the enduring and amicable relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, characterized by mutual confidence, shared principles, and robust collaboration across diverse sectors.

High-Level Meetings Scheduled

During his stay, PM Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to conduct significant meetings with top-ranking UAE officials, notably a bilateral session with the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

These high-level discussions will encompass a broad spectrum of bilateral, regional, and global matters of common interest and concern.

According to the FO, the Prime Minister’s visit aims to further consolidate the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE, enhance economic cooperation, and promote multifaceted partnerships.

It also demonstrates the mutual dedication of both Pakistan and the UAE to strengthening their mutually beneficial strategic alliance, enhancing cooperation in existing areas of mutual interest, and identifying new opportunities to further solidify their cordial bilateral relations.

Earlier Engagements

Earlier in the year, the UAE President visited Pakistan, arriving in Rahim Yar Khan in January.

During their meeting, the UAE leader and PM Shehbaz affirmed their joint commitment to enhancing economic, political, and cultural connections.

Their discussions covered various topics, including economic partnership, regional stability, climate change, and the advancement of shared interests on the international stage.

Sheikh Mohamed underscored the UAE’s strong interest in collaborating with Pakistan in the mining, minerals, and agriculture sectors.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE’s steadfast support during challenging times, particularly in providing humanitarian aid and development assistance.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to peace and progress in the region, pledging to collaborate closely on matters of mutual importance.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolution to promote greater cooperation, especially in priority sectors, to ensure a more promising future for both nations.
