PM Sharif and COAS Munir to Visit Saudi Arabia

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is set to visit Saudi Arabia for three days starting October 26. A central part of the visit will be a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

This marks their initial visit to the nation since the signing of the landmark defense agreement between the two countries in September, which took place in the Saudi capital.

Discussions between the leaders are anticipated to cover the current global landscape, with a particular emphasis on developments in Gaza.

The recent visits of high-level business delegations from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, along with related discussions, will also be assessed.

Sources indicate that Prime Minister Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir will lead a substantial delegation comprising manufacturers, business figures, and trade representatives. They are expected to participate in an international conference focused on investment and economic matters.

The conference is expected to host CEOs from over 500 well-known companies, along with leaders from various countries and international organizations.

The forum will serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices, cultivating partnerships, and facilitating deal-making. The program will feature engaging content, impactful networking opportunities, valuable insights, and curated activities, cuisine, and entertainment.

The agenda incorporates discussions on leveraging generative AI infrastructure investments to shape industries and workforces, developing resilient supply chains ready for the future.

Additional topics include aligning sustainability objectives with corporate strategies, navigating geopolitical changes and global trade dynamics, identifying rising markets and new avenues for economic expansion, addressing global energy requirements, and building trust and leadership in uncertain times.

The conference will span three days. Prime Minister Shehbaz will also reiterate the invitation to Crown Prince and Saudi Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to visit Pakistan.
