Prime Minister’s Message on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed on Sunday that Pakistan will continue its unwavering backing of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through political, diplomatic, and moral means. This support is for their ongoing struggle to achieve self-determination and liberty.

In his statement commemorating Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, observed annually on July 13th, the Prime Minister noted, “Kashmir Martyrs’ Day is observed each year to honor the 22 Kashmiris who gave their lives on July 13, 1931, while protesting the Dogra forces in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He further added, “This day serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring perseverance, resistance against oppressive forces, and steadfast commitment of the Kashmiri Muslims.

Throughout Kashmir’s history, the quest for freedom, human rights, and the rights of Kashmiris has persisted,” the Prime Minister stated.

The people of Kashmir have consistently made sacrifices in their rightful pursuit of self-determination. The government of Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, which remains under unlawful Indian occupation, offering its full political, diplomatic, and moral support.

“We commend the courage and resolve of all Kashmiri martyrs who have sacrificed their lives during the decades-long Indian occupation.”

“Today, the Government of Pakistan reiterates its dedication to resolving the Kashmir issue and upholding the right to self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations,” he concluded.
