Royals Secure Victory Over Diamondbacks

PHOENIX: At Chase Field on Friday, Vinnie Pasquantino propelled the Kansas City Royals to a 9-3 triumph against the Arizona Diamondbacks, thanks to two home runs and a career-best six RBIs.

Pasquantino initiated the scoring early, blasting a three-run homer into right field off Arizona’s starting pitcher, Eduardo Rodriguez, giving the Royals an initial 3-0 advantage.

The Kansas City offense maintained its intensity, with Bobby Witt Jr. contributing three hits, two runs, and one RBI. Mark Canha also added a solo home run, his first of the current season, in the fifth inning.

Arizona countered in the first inning’s latter half, narrowing the gap to 3-2 with Eugenio Suarez’s sacrifice fly and Josh Naylor’s RBI single. Nevertheless, the Royals swiftly retaliated, scoring three additional runs in the second inning to broaden their lead to 6-2.

Rodriguez faced difficulties during his appearance, conceding nine runs (eight earned) across four and one-third innings. Although he achieved seven strikeouts, he permitted 12 hits, including three home runs, elevating his ERA to 5.78.

Pasquantino increased the Royals’ lead to 8-2 in the fourth inning with his second home run of the game and 14th of the season, a two-run shot.

Suarez delivered a late boost for the Diamondbacks with a solo homer in the sixth, his 28th of the season, but it proved insufficient to close the deficit.

This defeat signifies Arizona’s third consecutive loss and their seventh in the past nine contests. The series is set to resume on Saturday, featuring Michael Wacha as the starting pitcher for the Royals against Ryne Nelson of the Diamondbacks.
