Pakistan Sets 189-4 Against West Indies in Final T20I

LAUDERHILL: In the third and concluding T20I against the West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground on Monday, Pakistan achieved a total of 189-4 in their 20 overs, propelled by an impressive opening stand by Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Pakistan initiated strongly as the opening batsmen, Ayub and Farhan, aggressively targeted the West Indies bowlers, advancing the score to 47-0 at the close of the powerplay.

The pair developed a firm fifty-run partnership and continued their dominant performance, aiming for a series-winning score. Farhan stood out, achieving his half-century in T20Is in the 11th over, taking Pakistan to 88 without any wickets down.

Saim Ayub soon followed suit, notching up his third T20I fifty and pushing the team past the 100-run mark for the opening partnership in the 13th over, with Pakistan comfortably placed at 108-0.

West Indies managed to break through in the 17th over when Shamar Joseph dismissed Farhan for a well-played 74 from 53 deliveries, which included three fours and five sixes, leaving Pakistan at 138-1 after 16.2 overs.

Hassan Nawaz then supported Ayub, contributing a rapid 15 from seven balls, hitting two sixes before being caught out by Roston Chase, making the score 158-2 in the 18th over.

In the subsequent over, Mohammad Haris was run out for just 2, due to Jewel Andrew’s quick fielding and Gudakesh Motie’s assistance, reducing Pakistan to three wickets down.

Ayub’s impressive innings ended in the 19th over when Jason Holder removed him for 66 from 49 balls, which featured four boundaries and two sixes, with the scoreboard reading 170-4.

The final over was productive for Pakistan, with Shamar Joseph conceding 19 runs. Khushdil Shah remained not out with 11 from six balls, while Faheem Ashraf added a useful 10 from three balls.
