Monsoon Rains Claim Lives and Cause Injuries Across Pakistan
Recent flash floods and significant rainfall during this monsoon season have resulted in the deaths of at least 72 individuals and injuries to 130 others throughout Pakistan. This information was provided by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in its latest 10-day report.
The data highlights a concerning rise in casualties between June 26 and July 6, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reporting the highest number of deaths.

- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 28 deaths
- Punjab: 22 deaths
- Sindh: 15 deaths
- Balochistan: 7 deaths
- Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK): 4 deaths
Recent Incidents and Emergency Response
Over the past day, six additional rain-related fatalities were recorded, including four in KP and two in Sindh. Furthermore, three people sustained injuries in various incidents such as flash floods, collapsed buildings, lightning strikes, and drownings.
The monsoon weather has damaged approximately 161 homes, and 91 livestock were lost. During this period, the NDMA carried out 19 rescue missions, successfully rescuing 233 people and distributing essential supplies to those affected.
With monsoon activity anticipated to intensify nationwide, the NDMA’s National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has issued alerts concerning heavy rainfall and potential flooding through July 10.
