The Drug Testing Laboratory (DTL) in Pakistan has issued a critical warning after identifying several drugs from seven different pharmaceutical companies as spurious, indicating they are either fake or dangerously substandard. Investigations by the DTL revealed that some of these medications might contain toxic and narcotic/psychotropic ingredients in unacceptable doses, posing a severe, potentially life-threatening risk to consumers.

These falsified medicines were found to be sold with fraudulent license numbers, and even the addresses listed for the pharmaceutical companies on the drug packaging were fake. The spurious products identified include:

  • Eyosef 250mg capsules
  • Alcoxime suspension
  • Milixime suspension
  • Mirzpan suspension
  • Mirzolam tablets
  • Lexopam tablets
  • Zionex tablet
  • Bromalex

The consequences of consuming these counterfeit drugs can be dire, potentially exacerbating existing health conditions or introducing new, severe complications. Experts confirm that the license numbers associated with these products were never officially issued, further validating their fraudulent nature.
