Pakistan to Clash with Palestine in Final Showdown on Wednesday

Pakistan’s baseball team showcased a dominant display Tuesday, defeating India with a score of 14-1 in the West Asia Baseball Cup semifinal held in Karaj, Iran.

Due to Pakistan’s significant advantage, the mercy rule was applied after seven innings, preventing any potential Indian rally.

The defending champions initiated aggressively, securing five runs in both the first and third innings to establish a firm lead in the match. Hussain, the third baseman, was instrumental in the offensive, achieving two hits out of four attempts, contributing two RBIs and scoring four runs.

Wasim Akram, the center fielder, alongside Muhammad Rehan, the designated hitter, also delivered noteworthy performances, collectively accounting for four hits and four runs batted in.

Muhammad Haris, the starting pitcher, set a strong precedent by pitching 4.1 solid innings, conceding merely one earned run and striking out four Indian players.

The bullpen maintained an even higher level of dominance, with relief pitchers Syed Muhib Shah and Hussain Imam combining for five strikeouts across 2.2 scoreless innings, solidifying their team’s triumph.

India faced difficulties across all facets of the game, making a concerning total of 10 fielding errors, while their pitchers gave eight walks. Their solitary run occurred during the first inning, and they only managed four hits in total against Pakistan’s effective pitching lineup.

Following this resounding victory, Pakistan is set to compete against Palestine in Wednesday’s final as they aim to retain their West Asia Baseball Cup title.

It is important to note that Pakistan advanced to the knockout stage in excellent form after leading Group B.

Their campaign commenced with a 10-6 victory over Bangladesh. In their second group match, Pakistan overwhelmed Iran, the host nation, with a 14-0 score.
