PCB Unveils Schedule for National Women’s T20 Tournament
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially released the schedule for the National Women’s T20 Tournament. The competition is set to take place from May 7 to 24 in Karachi, hosted at two locations: the National Bank Stadium and the HPC Oval Ground.
This year’s tournament will see five teams – Challengers, Conquerors, Invincibles, Stars, and Strikers – participate in a double round-robin format. A total of 22 matches are planned over the course of 18 days.
The team that finishes atop the league standings will automatically secure a spot in the final. The second and third-placed teams will compete in a Qualifier match for the chance to join them in the final, which is scheduled to be held at the National Bank Stadium on May 24.
Eighty female cricketers are expected to participate in the National Women’s T20 tournament, with a total prize pool exceeding PKR three million.
The winning team is set to receive PKR 1.5 million, while the runners-up will be awarded PKR one million.
Each of the five teams currently has 19 players. However, after a four-day pre-tournament camp starting on May 3 in Karachi, the squads will be reduced to 16 players.
Five captains who were part of Pakistan’s successful ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025 squad will lead their respective teams.
Fatima Sana, Pakistan’s captain, will lead Conquerors. Top-order batters Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin will captain Invincibles and Stars, respectively.
Gull Feroza will lead Strikers, and Rameen Shamim will captain Challengers.
