Natalya Celebrates Role in Historic Saudi Arabia Women’s Wrestling Match
WWE icon Natalya Neidhart has lauded Vince McMahon, the company’s co-founder, for his contribution to advancing women’s wrestling in Saudi Arabia.
Natalya, a prominent figure in professional wrestling, joined World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2007 and remains a significant presence in the organization.
Natalya holds the distinction of participating in the first-ever women’s wrestling contest in Saudi Arabia, where she faced Lacey Evans at Crown Jewel in 2019.
In a recent interview, Natalya discussed her Saudi Arabia experience, revealing that she expressed her desire to Vince McMahon to be the pioneering woman to wrestle in the country.
“I feel the women have advanced considerably, and Vince McMahon has provided me with numerous opportunities. Regarding the Saudi Arabia match, I told Vince when WWE initially started events there, ‘I am eager to participate. I aspire to be the first woman to compete in Saudi Arabia,'” Natalya stated.
The Queen of Harts commended McMahon’s support for women’s wrestling in Saudi Arabia, noting his commitment to showcasing female talent and advocating for increased visibility.
“Vince facilitated the opportunity. I believe Vince genuinely supported women wrestling there and desired greater exposure for us, enabling us to pursue our passion,” she added.
“I am eternally grateful to Vince for that experience because he championed greater visibility for women in Saudi Arabia. He encountered resistance and had to advocate strongly. Now, observe our progress.”
