Pakistan Dispatches Delegation to Counter Indian Narrative
A high-powered Pakistani diplomatic team will journey to significant global hubs, including London, Brussels, Paris, the United States, and Russia. This initiative aims to counteract Indian disinformation and underscore Pakistan’s dedication to fostering peace in the region, according to Climate Minister Dr. Musadik Malik on Tuesday.
During his appearance on the program “Geo Pakistan,” Dr. Malik stated that the government acted promptly and with accountability during the recent crisis, successfully fulfilling the mandate given by the citizens and Parliament.
He emphasized the government’s immediate response, working in tandem with defense bodies and assembling a diplomatic group to articulate Pakistan’s stance internationally.
Malik clarified that the representatives selected were not limited to members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) but also included figures from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and seasoned individuals with prior roles as foreign ministers and ambassadors.
He mentioned that the government put together a focused and efficient team of six to seven individuals, contrasting with India’s larger contingent, to engage with prominent global actors.
Dr. Malik indicated that the delegation is scheduled to visit major capitals such as London, Brussels, Paris, and the United States, with a separate, smaller mission potentially heading to Russia. Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is actively engaging with counterparts in the region, notably in the Middle East.
Nations such as Turkey, China, and Azerbaijan maintain consistent communication with Pakistan, and these ongoing bilateral discussions will continue. However, the immediate emphasis will be on outreach to Europe and the United States.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office the previous week, PM Shehbaz Sharif has decided to send a diplomatic mission to key global centers to present Pakistan’s perspective, promote peace, and expose India’s propaganda on a global scale.
The prime minister has entrusted PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari with leading the delegation.
The delegation will comprise Federal Ministers Dr. Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Sherry Rehman, and former Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar, as per the official announcement.
The statement further detailed that Senator Faisal Sabzwari, former Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, and former Ambassador to the US and EU Jalil Abbas Jilani will also participate in the delegation.
The team’s itinerary includes visits to crucial capitals, including London, Washington, Paris, and Brussels.
“The delegation will emphasize Pakistan’s endeavors to achieve regional peace while exposing India’s propaganda and actions aimed at disrupting regional stability,” the statement concluded.
