Customs Values Revised for Milk Powder Imports

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has updated the customs values for imported skimmed milk powder, instant milk powder, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated filled milk.

A new valuation ruling (1998 of 2025) has been issued by the agency to reflect these changes.

These revised customs values will be applicable to imports originating from the USA, Canada, Turkey, Iran, New Zealand, Australia, and Eastern Europe.

Importers had argued that the removal of exemptions on these items had led to decreased import volumes and a subsequent downward trend in international market prices. They requested a downward revision of the existing customs values.

The ruling stated that the previous Valuation Ruling was over a year old. Consequently, in accordance with an analysis of imported data, prevailing market trends, variations in market prices, and customs values, a reassessment of the customs values for these goods was conducted under sections 25 and 25A of the Customs Act 1969.
