Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has pledged to launch a province-wide campaign on World Brain Day aimed at raising awareness of neurological disorders such as brain tumors and dementia. In her address, she underscored the critical role of cognitive health in shaping constructive decision-making and overall life quality.

She described the brain as “the most complex and incredible system” and warned that neglecting public understanding of brain health is akin to neglecting life itself. She highlighted that people suffering from neurological conditions often endure not only physical pain but also social isolation and stigma.

CM Maryam emphasized that early detection and diagnosis are vital tools in combating silent neurological challenges. She affirmed her government’s commitment to initiating public awareness programmes, improving access to neurological screening, and expanding mental health support services across Punjab.

Through this initiative, her administration aims to reduce stigma, foster early intervention, and build a healthier, cognitively-aware society where neurological health is prioritized among public health goals.
