RCCI Appoints Lt Gen (Rtd) Nigar Johar Khan as Brand Ambassador
RAWALPINDI: Demonstrating a commitment to gender equality and the advancement of women in leadership, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has named Lt Gen (retd) Nigar Johar Khan as its official brand ambassador. She will champion women’s empowerment and related initiatives.
The announcement took place during “SHE Leads – A Tribute to Women,” an event hosted at the Chamber House. The event served as a platform to acknowledge the tenacity, fortitude, and considerable achievements of women throughout Pakistan. Lt Gen (retd) Johar, Pakistan’s first and only female three-star general, was the chief guest.
RCCI President Usman Shahkat, in his opening remarks, lauded her professional journey as one defined by courage, commitment, and groundbreaking achievements.
“She has redefined possibilities for women in Pakistan and serves as an inspiration,” he stated.
Group Leader Sohail Altaf reaffirmed the Chamber’s steadfast dedication to inclusive progress.
“Events like these emphasize the critical role of women in Pakistan’s development, while also celebrating our national role models,” he commented.
In her keynote address, Johar commended RCCI for its proactive approach to gender equality. “It is crucial to create environments where women can lead, develop, and influence the future,” she stated, also praising RCCI’s vision and commitment to empowering women.
She also emphasized the significance of unity and collaboration, endorsing RCCI’s forthcoming solidarity walk in support of Palestine, alongside the Palestinian ambassador.
The event saw the participation of Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Vice President Fahad Barlas, former presidents, executive committee members, Director AIC Ijaz Qamar Kayani, and a large contingent of women members.
