OGRA Announces Reduction in LPG Prices for May

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) declared on Wednesday a decrease in the maximum consumer price of LPG by Rs3.20 per kg for the month of May.

According to a statement from the regulatory body, the price of LPG for producers is associated with the Saudi Aramco-CP rate and the US dollar exchange rate.

“Compared to the previous month, the Saudi Aramco-CP has seen a 1.8 percent decline. While the average dollar exchange rate experienced a slight increase of 0.22 percent, the net effect is a decrease in the LPG consumer price by Rs.37.80 per 11.8 kg cylinder (1.28 percent). This translates to a per kg reduction of Rs3.20 for consumers,” the statement explained.

The revised price for an 11.8kg domestic cylinder is now set at Rs2,892.91, a decrease from the previous month’s price of Rs2,930.71 in April. The price for LPG producers has also been adjusted downward, from Rs2,443.37 to Rs2,405.57 on a month-to-month basis.
