Messi Leads Miami to Draw After Falling Behind 2-0

CHESTER: Lionel Messi delivered a goal and an assist, playing a crucial role in Inter Miami’s comeback from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-3 draw against the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park on Saturday.

Philadelphia took an early lead in the seventh minute when Quinn Sullivan scored with a volley into the right corner. Tai Baribo extended their lead, making it 2-0 just before halftime.

Tadeo Allende managed to pull one back for Inter Miami in the 60th minute with a header, but Philadelphia quickly responded, restoring their two-goal advantage 13 minutes later with Baribo’s second goal.

Messi, a key player for Miami, then scored with a remarkable free kick three minutes before the end of regulation time, narrowing the score to 3-2.

In stoppage time, Telasco Segovia scored the decisive goal, leveling the score at 3-3. Messi’s assist in this final play was vital in earning the draw for his team.

Miami’s head coach, Javier Mascherano, commended his team’s resilience, noting their determination to recover from a challenging start.
