Animal Abuse Case Uncovered in Lahore

A troubling case of animal cruelty has emerged in Lahore’s Defence vicinity. Authorities intervened after a woman was discovered torturing and killing various animals, including rabbits, cats, and exotic species. Graphic content was reportedly uploaded to social media, sparking a police investigation.

The incident gained attention after JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter reported an Instagram account showcasing the brutal killing of animals.

“We received information regarding a deeply disturbing situation involving an Instagram influencer who was observed posting content showing the torture and killing of animals, including bunnies and cats,” the shelter conveyed via social media.

The shelter promptly contacted ASP Shehrbano Naqvi, who subsequently directed a police raid on the suspect’s residence.

“The conditions found inside were even more alarming than initially anticipated,” JFK stated. “Cigarettes were scattered everywhere. The motives behind her actions remain unclear – whether they involved satanic rituals or something else. Police will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause.”

ASP Shehrbano verified that numerous animals were recovered from the premises. The animals were allegedly confined in inhumane conditions throughout the house.

“She possessed rabbits, several exotic animals, cats, and other creatures, all housed in extremely peculiar conditions, with cigarettes strewn about,” ASP Shehrbano stated.

She further noted that the woman appeared to exhibit mental health concerns and has been admitted to a medical facility.

“We have just addressed a situation where a woman suffering from mental health issues was mistreating animals,” ASP Shehrbano explained in an Instagram video. “She had been posting graphic images of her actions, including smashing their heads.”

An FIR has been filed against the woman. The rescued domestic animals are being relocated to JFK’s shelter through the Pakistan Animal Rescue Centre (PARC), while wild animals have been entrusted to the Wildlife Department and other relevant organizations.

ASP Shehrbano appealed to the public to maintain vigilance in cases involving individuals with mental health challenges who possess animals.

“I urge you, if you are aware of anyone experiencing mental health issues, please refrain from giving them a pet,” she advised. “If they already have animals, please inform their family members and advise them against allowing the individual to keep the animals.”

She also emphasized the need for heightened awareness regarding animal cruelty, cautioning that such acts of violence often escalate. “Please initiate conversations about animal cruelty,” she urged, “as cruelty towards animals can lead to cruelty towards children and other vulnerable members of the community.”
