The Central Development Working Party has moved forward with a recommendation for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (Health Component) at a cost of Rs18.14 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for final approval. Covering thirteen districts including Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi and Haripur the project aims to strengthen primary healthcare services across KP under foreign assistance

This initiative will operate through an independent Project Management Unit within the KP Health Department following World Bank procurement guidelines The goal is to improve service delivery quality in host communities and refugee populated areas alike by upgrading infrastructure staffing and essential medical supplies

A concurrent Rs2 billion project has also been approved to reinforce the Common Management Unit charged with coordinating responses to AIDS TB and malaria This will enhance surveillance capacities and ensure consistent disease control interventions aligned with Pakistan’s Sustainable Development Goals
