Clash in Karachi Claims Police Officer’s Life, Injures Rangers Personnel

In Karachi’s SITE-A Area, a police officer lost his life, and a member of the Rangers sustained injuries following an exchange of gunfire between the two forces, authorities reported on Friday.

Senior Superintendent of Police Keamari, Captain (retd) Faizan Ali, stated that preliminary investigations indicate a dispute arose between the individuals, which then escalated into a shooting.

Officer Identification

The deceased police officer has been identified as Waseem Akhtar, who was stationed at Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station.

Injured Ranger’s Condition

The injured Rangers official, named Nauman, is currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital and remains unconscious.

Investigation Details

According to the SSP, two 9mm handguns were discovered at the location. Nauman is reportedly affiliated with the 34 Wing of the paramilitary unit. Once he regains consciousness, his account will be documented for legal purposes.

He further mentioned that official procedures have been initiated in accordance with the established legal framework.
