Rabada Acknowledges Babar Azam Among Toughest Batters

South African pace sensation Kagiso Rabada has identified Pakistan’s Babar Azam as a formidable opponent, describing him as a batting “rock”.

Rabada, a veteran of 71 Tests, 106 ODIs, and 70 T20Is for South Africa, expressed his high regard for the Pakistani star during his appearance on the Beard Before Cricket Podcast, hosted by England’s Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid.

During the podcast, the Proteas bowler was asked to name the batsmen he has found most difficult to bowl to throughout his distinguished career.

Rabada specifically highlighted Babar’s resilience at the crease, especially when playing in Pakistan.

Rabada’s Statement

“Babar Azam is a rock, particularly in Pakistan. It feels almost impossible to get him out,” Rabada commented.

The right-arm fast bowler also included India’s Virat Kohli, England’s Joe Root, Australia’s Steve Smith, and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson among his toughest competitors.

However, Rabada singled out David Warner as the most challenging batsman he has faced, citing his unique batting approach and rapid scoring ability.

Reasoning Behind Warner’s Selection

“I found David Warner exceptionally difficult to bowl to because of his unorthodox style. He was adept at cutting a wide range of deliveries, and he would capitalize on any slightly shorter length by cutting it powerfully,” Rabada explained.

“He was unique in his ability to do that against my bowling. Despite my successes against him, I always considered him a very tough opponent,” he concluded.
