K-Electric Reappoints Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi as CEO
Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi has been reappointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of K-Electric, the primary electricity provider for Karachi.
The power company shared this update in a notification issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.
The notification stated, “We are writing to inform you that Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, the current Chief Executive Officer, has been reappointed to the role, effective from July 30, 2025.”
Alvi initially took on the CEO position at KE in June 2018. Since then, KE has made substantial investments across its energy operations under his direction. These include the creation of a 900 MW RLNG-fueled power facility.
Alvi’s journey with KE began in 2008, where he previously held key positions such as Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary, and Head of Treasury.
With three decades of extensive experience in finance, financial planning, and capital restructuring, Alvi is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
Earlier in the month, Alvi spoke to reporters about his future goals for KE.
He stated, “KE should be capable of delivering dependable and sustainable electricity to customers safely. We need improved technical capabilities to enhance the system and keep up with changes in the global market to ensure our systems are up-to-date.”
