Hales Aims to Bolster Islamabad United’s PSL Title Ambitions

Karachi: Alex Hales, the former England opening batsman, has rejoined Islamabad United, the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions, as they prepare for the remainder of PSL 10, which is set to resume on May 17.

The franchise formally announced his inclusion through their various social media platforms.

The social media update from Islamabad United included the caption: “Welcome home, [Alex Hales]! #HaleStorm is back with Islamabad United for #HBLPSLX as the quest #4TheDream continues.”

Hales shared his enthusiasm about returning to the team and pledged to make a substantial contribution to their pursuit of another PSL championship.

In a statement, Hales remarked, “Islamabad United holds a special place in my heart.”

“They were the first PSL team I played for in Pakistan, and the support I’ve received from both the fans and the franchise has been amazing.

“When I was signed back in April, I eagerly anticipated joining the squad for the final stages of the competition. Following the rescheduling of the PSL dates, I needed to adjust some prior arrangements, but I am incredibly excited to return to Pakistan and play in Red.

“I hope I can assist the team in their push for another title.”

Currently, United, who have won the title three times, are in third place with 10 points from nine games. They need to secure a victory in their final league match against Karachi Kings on May 19 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to enhance their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
