Pakistan and China Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Stability

Amidst ongoing tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi following the Pahalgam incident, Pakistan and China have once again declared their steadfast dedication to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

This announcement followed a phone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which Dar provided an overview of the current regional situation.

Both high-ranking diplomats emphasized the importance of fostering mutual respect and understanding while rejecting unilateral actions and policies of hegemony.

In addition to China, Pakistan has engaged with allied nations, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Egypt, briefing them on the repercussions of the recent attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIIOJK), which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists.

Without presenting any substantiating proof, New Delhi has implicated Islamabad in the assault and implemented a series of retaliatory measures to diminish ties, such as suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, nullifying Pakistani visas, and shutting down the Wagah-Attari border crossing.

Pakistan has reciprocated India’s actions and cautioned about potentially suspending the Simla Agreement, along with closing its airspace to Indian flights.

Islamabad has refuted any involvement in the attack and proposed participating in an impartial and open inquiry.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Office today, Islamabad and Beijing have agreed to sustain close communication and coordination across all levels to further their shared goals of peace, security, and sustainable development in the region and beyond.

The Deputy Prime Minister firmly denounced India’s unilateral and unlawful actions, as well as its unfounded allegations against Pakistan, the statement added.

The Foreign Office conveyed deep appreciation for China’s consistent and unwavering support, stating that Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China and their common vision of a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

He also underscored Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas.
