Islamabad Airport Achieves Cargo Revenue Milestone

Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) has reached a noteworthy achievement in its cargo sector, amassing Rs. 72.3 million in cargo processing fees during March 2025.

This represents the highest income produced via cargo activities since November 2021, when the airport registered Rs. 49 million in similar levies.

According to the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA), the considerable 47% surge in cargo earnings is mainly due to the recent commencement of exclusive import cargo operations by SF Cargo.

The logistics firm initiated the use of B757-200 aircraft on the Urumqi-Islamabad-Urumqi (URC-ISB-URC) route. A PAA representative stated that the new cargo service is currently conveying roughly 22,775 kg of merchandise per flight. Operations are set for twice a week, specifically on Tuesdays and Fridays.

PAA anticipates that the amplified cargo volume will substantially bolster the facility’s total income for 2025, potentially setting unprecedented standards for cargo management at major international airports in Pakistan.
