ICC Unveils Latest Test Player Rankings
The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its updated Test player rankings on Wednesday, revealing shifts among top cricketers.
Batting Rankings
England’s Joe Root maintains his stronghold at the summit of the batting rankings, a testament to his consistent and high-level performances in Test matches. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel descended two positions, now holding the 10th spot. Shakeel remains the only Pakistani batter within the top ten, but is now in danger of dropping out. Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan remains in 16th place.
England’s Harry Brook ascended to the second position, marking a notable advancement in his international career. India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed to fourth place. Rishabh Pant’s double-century in the Headingley Test against England helped him move up one spot to seventh. Ben Duckett of England also saw a rise, gaining five positions to reach eighth place after his significant contribution to England’s recent Test victory.
Bowling Rankings
In the bowling arena, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali has successfully defended his fourth-place ranking, remaining the sole Pakistani representative within the top 10 bowlers. India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to dominate the bowling charts, followed by South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Pat Cummins.
India’s Ravindra Jadeja experienced a setback, falling three places to 13th following a less effective performance in Headingley.
All-Rounder Rankings
Among all-rounders, Nauman Ali is positioned at 19th, while Jadeja remains at the forefront. England’s captain, Ben Stokes, advanced three places to fifth, reflecting his increasing influence with both batting and bowling skills.
