DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the contenders for the Men’s Player of the Month award for September 2025 on Tuesday, recognizing India’s Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, alongside Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett.

Abhishek Sharma’s Dominant Performance

Abhishek Sharma distinguished himself with exceptional form during the Asia Cup, where he was named Player of the Tournament following India’s title victory.

The dynamic left-handed batter accumulated 314 runs in seven T20Is, which included three half-centuries, achieved at a striking rate of 200.

His aggressive strategy at the batting order’s forefront was crucial in India’s strong showings during the competition.

Sharma also accomplished a significant feat, attaining the highest batting rating in men’s T20I history with a score of 931 points, further solidifying his position as a promising talent in global cricket.

Kuldeep Yadav’s Stellar Campaign

The left-arm spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, also had a successful campaign, ending as the leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with 17 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.27.

He commenced the tournament remarkably, securing figures of 4/7 against the UAE and concluded it with 4/30 in the final match against Pakistan. Kuldeep’s consistent breakthroughs during the middle overs were vital to India’s championship win.

Brian Bennett’s Consistency

Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett displayed remarkable consistency and powerful hitting skills throughout September. The right-handed batsman amassed 497 runs in nine T20Is, maintaining an average of 55.22 and a strike rate of 165.66.

Following outstanding performances in bilateral series against Sri Lanka and Namibia, Bennett continued his impressive form into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, notching scores of 72, 65, and 111 in his initial three innings.

His prolific contributions were instrumental in Zimbabwe securing qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
