Hasan Ali Breaks PSL Record for Most Wickets

Karachi Kings’ express bowler Hasan Ali wrote himself into the annals of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Friday by eclipsing Wahab Riaz’s long-standing record as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker.

Hasan achieved this milestone during the Kings’ face-off with the Quetta Gladiators at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The right-arm quick bowler claimed his 114th PSL wicket by dismissing Hasan Nawaz for a mere single run, thus ascending to the summit of the PSL’s all-time wicket chart.

What makes Hasan’s accomplishment even more impressive is that he reached this mark in just 83 innings, which is four fewer than Wahab, who took 113 wickets across 87 innings.

Most Wickets in PSL History:

The 30-year-old has showcased remarkable form throughout this PSL season, securing seven wickets in only three games thus far.

Following a somewhat costly performance against Multan Sultans, where he gave away 44 runs for one wicket, Hasan rebounded strongly in his subsequent match against Lahore Qalandars, delivering an exceptional spell.

Earlier in the match against Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings elected to bat first after winning the toss. The Kings managed to post a competitive total of 176 runs, with James Vince spearheading the innings with a rapid 70 runs. His contribution was instrumental in the Kings setting a target of 175/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Kings captain David Warner, seeking to make his mark in PSL 10, contributed 31 runs, punctuated by five boundaries. Tim Seifert also added firepower with a quickfire 27 runs from just 15 deliveries, including six boundaries, before being bowled by Gladiators captain Saud Shakeel.

In the bowling department, Ali Majid and Mohammad Amir of the Quetta Gladiators both claimed two wickets each, while Sean Abbott and Abrar Ahmed each took one wicket.
