PM Directs Separate Immigration Counters for Foreign Passengers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed that dedicated immigration desks be established for international travelers at all of Pakistan’s international airports. This initiative is designed to enhance the overall travel experience for visitors.

The announcement, made through a press statement released on Saturday by the PM Office Media Wing, is geared towards promoting tourism and simplifying immigration procedures for international guests.

The measure also aims to sustain trade activities and facilitate easier access for foreign investors seeking to visit and conduct business in Pakistan.

According to the press release, “This decision has been implemented to encourage tourism in Pakistan, ensure the continuation of commercial operations, and provide enhanced assistance to foreign investment.”

The segregation of immigration lines is anticipated to decrease processing durations for international visitors and, as an added advantage, expedite the processing of Pakistani citizens returning to the country.

The press release further noted that “The government’s initiative is part of a wider plan to make Pakistan more appealing and welcoming to international tourists, investors, and business delegations.”
