Getz Pharma organized a major obesity awareness seminar in Lahore, where leading health experts declared Pakistan is now battling a full-scale obesity epidemic. Shockingly, 81% of women and 74% of men in the country are classified as overweight or obese.

Medical professionals pointed to poor diet choices, sedentary lifestyles, and excessive screen time as primary drivers behind rising obesity rates. They warned that untreated obesity is fueling a surge in diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, infertility, and other non-communicable conditions among Pakistanis.

The seminar emphasized the need for early screening, community education, and lifestyle interventions. Experts urged citizens to adopt active living, balanced nutrition, and regular health checks. Targeted use of anti-obesity medications, like GLP‑1 agonists, was proposed for patients with high BMI and related metabolic issues.

Getz Pharma highlighted its commitment to preventive healthcare outreach, calling for widespread public health mobilization to tackle obesity before it overwhelms the national health system. The seminar served as a call to action: reversing obesity trends is not optional but essential for Pakistan’s economic and social well-being.
