German Consulate in Karachi Suspends Services for Non-EU Citizens
The German Consulate General in Karachi has declared an immediate halt to service provisions for individuals who are not citizens of the European Union (EU). This suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
In a formal announcement, the consulate verified that this provisional cessation encompasses all non-EU applicants, even those who possess already-scheduled visa appointments.
The consulate has stated that all impacted appointments are cancelled and will not be rescheduled at any point in the future.
Individuals impacted by this service interruption are encouraged to re-register via the consulate’s online system for appointments once operations are restored.
The diplomatic office communicated that updates regarding the situation would be provided as developments occur. The consulate also conveyed its appreciation for public cooperation during this service disruption.
Earlier in the month, the Swedish government had announced the resumption of their visa services in Islamabad, intending to make it easier for Pakistanis to travel to Sweden for short-term visits.
In related news from June, US consulates situated in Karachi and Lahore had released revised guidelines obligating individuals applying for F, M, and J non-immigrant visas to ensure their social media profiles are publicly accessible.
