Dave Coulier Opens Up About Chemotherapy Ordeal

Dave Coulier, known for his role in Full House, recently shared details about his challenging experience with chemotherapy.

During an open discussion on the How Rude, Tanneritos! Podcast, he recounted the difficulties he faced. He stated, “Following chemo, my blood cell counts plummeted, especially the red blood cells. It impacted all my levels, including white blood cells, essentially causing my immune system to collapse. Consequently, I contracted a cold during my final chemo session.”

Coulier continued, “I was advised to stay put for ten days, anticipating the full impact of the chemotherapy. Initially, I attributed my symptoms to that, rather than recognizing it as a cold my weakened immune defenses couldn’t handle.”

“I ended up being hospitalized for four days, requiring intravenous antibiotics to reduce my fever. The medical staff admitted uncertainty about the cause,” he explained.

The actor further acknowledged, “I was in rough shape. Additional testing eventually determined that I had contracted a rhinovirus.”

He praised the attending physicians, mentioning, “As my immune system began to recover, I also started improving. By the fifth day, they discharged me, noting that my fever had subsided.”

Before concluding, he added, “They cautioned me that if I had waited another two days, the outcome might have been fatal.”
