Flight Disruptions Persist Across Pakistan Due to Administrative Issues
Although flight operations have been reinstated at all airports nationwide, encompassing Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, considerable interruptions are occurring as a result of logistical complications.
According to the current flight plans, a total of 149 flights slated for today have been called off from various airport locations. Islamabad experienced 42 flight cancellations, Lahore had 36, and Karachi saw 34 flights grounded.
Moreover, Sialkot had 11 flights cancelled, Multan reported eight, Faisalabad six, Peshawar eight, and Quetta experienced four cancellations.
Sources reveal that since flights were allowed to resume, merely six flights have successfully departed from Karachi airport.
The airport shutdowns of the previous day created substantial issues, impacting roughly 400 flights, which included 130 cancellations and the diversion of 24 flights to alternative landing sites.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to get in touch with their respective airlines to acquire the most recent information concerning their flight schedules.
A day prior, the flight schedule faced significant turmoil as airports temporarily suspended flight operations for a number of hours. The suspension, lasting nearly eight hours, was attributed to increased tensions on the borders, affecting key airports in Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi.
While operations have started again at all airports throughout Pakistan, operational and bureaucratic hurdles are still affecting flight schedules countrywide. The uncertainty persists, impacting over 200 scheduled flights nationwide.
