Fire Erupts in Karachi Shopping Mall

Early Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in a shopping center situated on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi.

Details of the Incident

According to the Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan, the blaze originated on the building’s roof and subsequently extended to the fourth and third floors, where garment stores are located. He mentioned that the operation faced some challenges due to limited water availability. Eleven fire department vehicles and a pair of snorkels were deployed to combat the fire.

Damage and Evacuation

Rescue authorities have verified that the fire inflicted damage upon the rooftop and the third level of the commercial complex, impacting various businesses and offices. There was also fire presence on the second and first floors, but to a lesser extent. For safety reasons, individuals residing in the adjacent apartment block were evacuated. Fortunately, rescue personnel confirmed that no injuries were sustained, and the residential building remained secure.

Fire Under Control

The fire was successfully brought under control following four and a half hours of firefighting efforts.
