Tragic Incident in Rahim Yar Khan: Father Poisons Children, Then Himself

In a deeply upsetting event, a laborer residing in Rahim Yar Khan reportedly poisoned his three offspring before ending his own life, law enforcement officials stated Monday. The desperate act was allegedly driven by his inability to acquire Eid clothing for his children.

According to authorities, the incident transpired in the Sardar Garh Basti Haji Pir vicinity of Rukanpur village.

The individual, who was employed as a tractor trolley operator, had been out of work and visibly distressed for several days, according to police reports.

Reportedly overwhelmed with despair, he administered toxic substances to his two sons, who had disabilities, as well as his daughter, before consuming the poison himself.

The father and two sons died, while his daughter is currently being treated at Sheikh Zayed Hospital and is reported to be stable, the hospital administration confirmed.

In February of this year, a similar tragedy occurred in Swabi District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where a man allegedly killed his four children, including two minors, before committing suicide.

According to the police, the man named Saiful Islam, 42, worked as a tailor and had been dealing with domestic problems. Following a disagreement, his wife had departed several days prior and relocated to her parents’ residence, leaving their four children behind.

Struggling to care for his children, particularly his two-year-old daughter, Saiful Islam reportedly made several attempts to reconcile with his wife, but she allegedly declined to return. Out of desperation, he sent the youngest child to his wife via a relative, but the child was sent back.

Overcome by his inability to provide for his children, he apparently experienced profound distress, which ultimately led to the horrific act. Luqman Khan, an official from Rescue 1122, verified that the bodies were transported to Yar Hussain Civil Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
