Engro Fertilizers’ EnVen Plant Halts Operations for Maintenance
Engro Fertilizers Limited (EFERT) has announced a temporary shutdown of its EnVen facility, situated in Daharki, Sindh, to conduct urgent maintenance work.
The publicly listed entity communicated this development to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) through an official notification issued on Thursday.
The notice stated, “The EnVen plant belonging to Engro Fertilizers Limited has been taken offline to facilitate unscheduled maintenance procedures.”
EFERT estimates that the cessation of operations will last approximately four days.
“The organization has initiated essential maintenance tasks, following which the EnVen Plant is anticipated to recommence its operations,” the company stated.
The company also noted that during this period of inactivity, the primary production plant will sustain its usual operational capacity.
The EnVen Plant, established in 2011 with a $1.1 billion investment, boasts an annual output of 1.3 million tons. It is recognized as Pakistan’s most efficient fertilizer plant, achieving the lowest natural gas usage per ton of urea produced.
Engro Fertilizers Limited, incorporated in Pakistan on June 29, 2009, functions as a fully owned subsidiary of Engro Corporation Limited, itself a subsidiary of Dawood Hercules Corporation Limited.
The company’s operations encompass the manufacturing, procurement, and marketing of fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides, alongside providing logistical solutions.
