Pakistan Shaheens Announce Squad for England Tour
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the 18-member Pakistan Shaheens squad for their upcoming tour of England, commencing later this month. The squad includes a blend of experienced Test players and promising emerging talents.
Squad Composition
Saud Shakeel, a left-handed middle-order batter, will captain the side and will have the company of Test players such as Musa Khan, Mir Hamza, and Sajid Khan. The squad also features 14 emerging players, with 11 of them being under the age of 25, indicating a focus on nurturing young talent.
Batting and Wicketkeeping
- Azan Awais and Maaz Sadaqat, notable performers from the recent Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QEAT), are included.
- The batting lineup also includes Ali Zaryab, Haider Ali, Mohammad Suleman, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Shamyl Hussain.
- Rohail Nazir will take on the responsibility of wicketkeeping during the tour.
Bowling Attack
- The pace bowling department will consist of Mushtaq Ahmed, Shahid Aziz, and Ubaid Shah.
- The spin attack will be led by Sajid, with support from Faisal Akram, Mehran Mumtaz, and Mubasir Khan.
Tour Preparations
Before their departure on July 16, the squad is scheduled to participate in a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi. The tour itself is slated to take place from July 17 to August 6.
