Rhodes and Uso to Clash with Cena and Paul at MITB

TAMPA: Cody Rhodes, the former WWE Undisputed champion, marked his return at Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME), setting the stage for a significant tag-team encounter against John Cena.

Rhodes made his impactful re-emergence during the main event featuring Jey Uso and Logan Paul, who were competing for the World Heavyweight title. Rhodes intervened to support Uso, who was under attack by John Cena, the heel, who had earlier faced R Truth.

Following Rhodes and Uso’s combined effort to remove Cena and Paul from the ring, Rhodes addressed Cena, stating that he had ‘ruined’ wrestling sufficiently. He then challenged Cena and Paul to a tag-team match at the Money In The Bank (MITB) event, scheduled for June 7 in California.

“You’ve ruined enough,” Rhodes told Cena. “I’m sorry that the John Cena farewell tour ran right through Rhodes Country. But I’m back, and I’m ready to fight. You’ve got yourself a partner in Logan Paul, I got myself a brother in the World Heavyweight Champion. We’ll see you at Money In The Bank.”

Earlier that evening, Cena confronted Uso, raising concerns about the possibility of him losing the championship to Paul, a YouTuber, which Cena believed would ‘ruin’ wrestling.

“If, when my clock strikes zero, I take this championship home with me and that championship is around the waist of a YouTuber (Logan Paul)… sounds like that would almost ruin wrestling,” Cena told Uso.

Notably, Cena and Uso have a history marked by tension, as Uso eliminated Cena from the ring to secure his first Royal Rumble victory earlier in the year.
