Dynea Pakistan to Establish Wind Power Project in Balochistan
Dynea Pakistan Limited, a chemical manufacturing firm, has revealed intentions to create a 1.1MW self-reliant wind power initiative in Hub, Balochistan. This development aligns with an increasing trend among Pakistani companies to embrace renewable energy sources, aiming for enhanced sustainability and decreased reliance on traditional power.
In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday, Dynea Pakistan Limited stated, “The Board of Directors has sanctioned the execution and implementation of a 1.1MW independent Wind Power venture at Hub, Baluchistan, contingent upon securing regulatory clearances and finalizing contracts.”
Dynea Pakistan communicated that the project is designed to underpin its enduring sustainability goals.
“The finalization of the EPC agreement and arrangements is currently underway,” the company added.
The worldwide movement towards renewable energy is gaining traction, with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) indicating a 15.1% surge in global renewable energy capacity last year, reaching 4.5 terawatts, largely propelled by China.
A parallel trend is evident in Pakistan, characterized by an escalating transition towards alternative energy resources.
Earlier in April, Thatta Cement Company Limited (THCCL) finalized and launched a 4.8MW wind power project at its Thatta, Sindh facility. This expansion has elevated the company’s total installed renewable energy capacity to 9.8MW.
In a separate disclosure to the stock exchange on Thursday, Dynea Pakistan announced that its board, subsequent to market assessment, has endorsed the commencement of commercial production and sales for a novel product category within its resin segment, specifically Resin Additives & PVA white glue.
“The product will be produced utilizing the company’s existing facility and infrastructure and production capacity, without significant capital expenditure other than enhancements for storage and HSE-related purposes,” it noted.
Dynea Pakistan Limited, incorporated in Pakistan as a public limited entity on June 20, 1982, is involved in the manufacturing of formaldehyde, urea/melamine formaldehyde, and moulding compound.
