Cement Despatches Surge in July 2025
In July 2025, cement dispatches demonstrated substantial growth, climbing by 30.13%. Total dispatches reached 3.997 million tons, a notable increase compared to the 3.071 million tons dispatched during the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.
Data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) indicates that local cement dispatches by the industry in July 2025 amounted to 2.988 million tons, up from 2.524 million tons in July 2024. This represents an 18.40% rise. Export dispatches also experienced a significant surge of 84.21%, with volumes increasing from 0.547 million tons in July 2024 to 1.008 million tons in July 2025.
Regional Performance
In July 2025, cement mills located in the northern region dispatched 2.650 million tons of cement, reflecting a 17.61% increase compared to the 2.253 million tons dispatched in July 2024. Southern region mills dispatched 1.35 million tons of cement during July 2025, a 64.64% increase compared to the 0.818 million tons dispatched during July 2024.
Domestic Market
North-based cement mills recorded domestic market dispatches of 2.419 million tons in July 2025, marking a 12.26% increase from the 2.154 million tons dispatched in July 2024. South-based mills dispatched 569,954 tons of cement in local markets during July 2025, a 54.23% increase compared to the 369,557 tons dispatched during July 2024.
Export Growth
Exports from North-based mills saw a substantial increase of 133.96%, with quantities rising from 99,020 tons in July 2024 to 231,665 tons in July 2025. Exports from the South also grew by 73.22%, reaching 776,459 tons in July 2025, compared to 448,242 tons during the same month last year.
Industry Outlook
A spokesman for APCMA noted that the fiscal year commenced positively, despite adverse weather conditions across the nation. The spokesman voiced optimism that the industry would maintain robust growth in the months ahead, bolstered by improved macroeconomic conditions.
