Bournemouth Finalizes Acquisition of Amine Adli

BOURNEMOUTH: AFC Bournemouth has successfully secured the services of Moroccan winger Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning German champions. The Premier League team confirmed the signing of Adli on a five-year agreement on Thursday.

Financial specifics were not formally released; however, British news outlets have estimated the transfer to be in the vicinity of £25 million ($33.6m).

Adli’s arrival marks the latest addition to Bournemouth’s squad during this summer period, accompanying recent acquisitions such as Ben Gannon-Doak, Adrien Truffert, Dorde Petrovic, and Bafode Diakite.

During the transfer window, the Cherries have also experienced significant departures, including Illia Zabarnyi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain, Milos Kerkez’s transfer to Liverpool, and Dean Huijsen’s signing with Real Madrid.

Prior to joining Leverkusen in 2021, the 24-year-old winger commenced his professional career at Toulouse.

Throughout his tenure in Germany, spanning three seasons, he showcased his talent by netting 23 goals and delivering 25 assists across 143 appearances. Adli played a crucial role in the club’s noteworthy undefeated Bundesliga season and DFB-Pokal double in 2023-24.

Tiago Pinto, Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations, expressed enthusiasm about Adli’s arrival, emphasizing its significance for the club.

Pinto stated, “Amine is a proven competitor and a valuable addition to our team.”
He further added, “His experience at the highest levels aligns perfectly with our ambitions.”

It is anticipated that Adli will be eligible for Bournemouth’s upcoming Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Bournemouth, who concluded the previous season in ninth position, commenced their new campaign with a 4-2 defeat against defending champions Liverpool.
