Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Warns of Global Silence on Israeli Actions

Former Foreign Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has cautioned that the world’s lack of response to Israeli hostility toward Iran could have dire consequences. He stated, “If we fail to stand up for Iranians, no one will be left to defend us when they become the target.”

During a National Assembly session on Monday, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari commented on the situation, stating, “Initially, the attacks were against Palestinians, but the global community remained silent as they were not Palestinian. Subsequently, Lebanese individuals were targeted, but we remained quiet since we were not Lebanese. Following that, Yemenis faced attacks, yet we did not voice our concerns because we are not from Yemen.”

He further added, “Now, Iran is under attack. Should we remain silent, no one will be there to support us when we are targeted. The Israeli regime must cease its acts of aggression throughout the region.”

The former FM’s statement references Pastor Martin Niemöller’s well-known poem “First They Came” and highlights the escalating tensions in the Middle East. This instability has been worsened by the Israeli attacks on Iran and recent US strikes on Tehran’s nuclear sites.
